Community Education
Community Education is a program designed to bridge the gap between school and community by sharing resources and expertise between schools, individuals, and local businesses. The keystone of the program is high quality, short-term classes taught by teachers or other individuals who are highly skilled and knowledgeable in their subject areas. Community Education is for everyone, regardless of age, education level, or skill level. Individual class descriptions will indicate whether classes target children or other special age groups.

Continuing Education
Continuing Education is a program that provides learning opportunities for business, career, and professional development. Through Continuing Education, you can learn an additional skill or update a skill. Many of our Community Education classes are geared specifically toward Continuing Education.

Customized Training
Customized Training is a program offered directly to area employers to help them develop their most valuable assets – their employees. If you have training needs, contact us first. We can provide training customized to meet your needs at affordable rates.

Got a skill or talent you'd like to share?

The Community and Continuing Education staff is always looking for talented individuals from the community to teach for our program. If you have a skill or talent you’d like to share with others, send us the following:

  • The topic you are interested in teaching
  • Your credentials (a resume detailing your related qualifications or a paragraph describing them)

  • Group that your class would target (i.e., kids, homeowners, gardeners, etc.)

  • Short list of what attendees would learn (objectives)

  • Outline of major concepts you would cover

  • Total number of hours required to meet your class objectives (most classes average 10 or 12 hours total, but classes can be much shorter or longer)

  • List of equipment (if any) you would need to the teach class

  • List of supplies (if any) students would need

Note: Pursuant to Rolla Public School Board Policy, the Community and Continuing Education program conducts a fingerprint criminal background check on all new hires. Employment with the program cannot begin before the background check is completed and the results are reviewed by the program director.

Class proposals can be emailed to:

Jennifer Miller, Administrative Assistant, (573) 458-0150, JMiller@rolla.k12.mo.us
Stephanie Broyles, Program Director, (573) 458-0150, SBroyles@rolla.k12.mo.us

Note: The Community and Continuing Education program will consider all proposals submitted following the above criteria, but does reserve the right to reject any proposal. Proposals that do not fit the scope and/or goals of the program, that would require capital investment by the program, or that would solicit business from class participants are examples of proposals that would be rejected.

Jennifer and Stephanie would also love to hear from you if you would be intersted in taking a class that is not currently offered or receiving a quote for customized training!
